With this ticket, you’ll board the historic Corcovado Train and travel all the way to the foot of Christ the Redeemer. You’ll ride through the lush Tijuca Forest on a century-old railway and enjoy some of the best views of Rio de Janeiro.
How to Get to Christ the Redeemer
Reaching Christ the Redeemer aboard the Corcovado Train is one of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic experiences. The journey takes place on a historic rack railway that departs from Cosme Velho Station and was Brazil’s first electrified railway, inaugurated in 1884 by Emperor Pedro II.
Interestingly, this very railway was used to transport the materials needed to build Christ the Redeemer, one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World. By booking this ticket, you’ll enjoy an experience that blends history, engineering, and spectacular views, all aboard the most traditional means of reaching the monument.
You’ll set off on a journey in a historic electric locomotive and, over the course of a 20-minute ride, wind your way through the lush Atlantic Forest of Tijuca National Park, a protected ecosystem right in the heart of the city.
Once you arrive at the base of Christ the Redeemer, you’ll be rewarded with a 360-degree panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro. From the top, you’ll be able to see Sugarloaf Mountain, the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, and Maracanã Stadium. You won’t regret it!
