The Pampa Train in Sant'Ana do Livramento
Everyone who experiences the newest tourist attraction in Sant'Ana do Livramento, the Pampa Train, is instantly charmed. This train, which has two wagons called Cabernet and Tannat to honor two of the grapes cultivated in the region, travels 12 miles (20 kilometers) through the Campanha Caúcha countryside. With a capacity of 100 passengers, the train is equipped with comfortable seats and scenic views of the region's landscapes. You'll be captivated by the Rio Grande do Sul Pampa!
Activity Itinerary
Depending on the time you select, you can go on the Pampa Train ride first and after, tour the Almadén Winery, or vice versa. The meeting point for both options is the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station. Please read the itinerary below:
- Starting with the Pampa Train ride: we'll meet at the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station to board the train, where we'll get off at the Palomas Train Station. From here, we'll go to the Almadén Winery by bus. After the visit, we'll return to the meeting point by bus.
- Starting with the Almadén Winery tour: we'll meet at the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station to board a minibus or bus that will take us to the Almadén Winery. After the visit, we'll hop on board the bus again to head to the Palomas Train Station, where we'll board the Pampa Train and get off at the meeting point.
Train Ride
Hop on board the Pampa Train and take in the stunning views! During this 12-mile (20-kilometer) journey, you'll enjoy traditional musical performances by gauchos playing the guitar, which will connect you to the rich culture of southern Brazil.
Lastly, you'll enjoy a tasting of red wine, white wine, and a must (young wine) from the comfort of your seat, which has tables equipped with special glass holders.
Tour of the Almadén Winery
The Almadén Winery is one of the country's most prestigious wineries found in the Campanha Gaúcha, very close to the border with Uruguay. Here, you'll have the chance to stroll through vineyards, enjoy a balcony with scenic views, and visit a small interactive museum that tells the winery's history.
During the tour, you'll also learn the wine elaboration process and enjoy a tasting. The winery also has a canteen and a store where you can purchase exquisite wines and souvenirs. It'll be hard to resist!
