An incredible underground world full of stalactites and stalagmites awaits you on this guided tour through the caves of São Miguel. We'll walk through these impressive limestone caves of Bonito and learn all about their formation process.
Tour Details
At the agreed time, we'll meet at the location you selected when booking. We'll begin the experience by watching an informative video that will introduce us to the history and geology of the São Miguel Caves.
Next, we'll embark on an adventure by crossing a 656-ft (200-m) suspension bridge through the treetops, enjoying the fantastic views offered by the lush vegetation of the Cerrado. After this exciting walk, we'll hike about 492 ft (150 m) along a path surrounded by untouched nature until we reach a panoramic viewpoint with a spectacular view of the region.
Finally, we'll enter the São Miguel Caves, a dry underground space where we'll see fascinating geological formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, travertine, limestone niches, and spectacular coral formations. During the tour, we'll explain the origin of these structures, and with a bit of luck, we may even spot the famous barn owl that inhabits the area.
We'll conclude the tour by saying goodbye outside the caves after enjoying this unique experience in Bonito.
