On this day trip, we will visit Snow Castle and the port of Kemi to enjoy an unforgettable experience: an icebreaker boat ride on the Gulf of Bothnia! You will also have the opportunity to float in its frozen waters.
Activity Details
At the appointed time, we'll meet at the selected meeting point in Rovaniemi. Once we are all together, we'll leave the capital of Lapland behind and start a round-trip bus journey to the port in Kemi.
The experience includes access to the exhibitions and attractions of the SnowCastle in Kemi, where you can dive into their world of ice. Afterward, the Sampo icebreaker boat will be waiting for us. Once we board the boat, you can enjoy a hot non-alcoholic welcome drink, and we'll enjoy a guided boat tour, visiting the engine room and the captain's maneuvering area. You'll feel like real explorers of the Arctic!
As we sail on this 4-hour cruise, you'll admire the waters of the Gulf of Bothnia and watch the ship break through the icy layers in its path. You can enjoy this spectacle on deck or sheltered inside, where you'll find warm rooms and a café-restaurant for your comfort. The experience also includes a lunch on board.
Once we're ready, we'll take part in another unique experience: floating on the high seas and, if the weather allows, walking on the frozen sea. Of course, we'll provide you with special suits to protect you from the cold.
Finally, you'll be given a participation certificate, and we'll sail back to the port in Kemi. From here, we'll return to the initial meeting point in Rovaniemi.
