Dive into this snorkeling and Sea Trek experience in Phillipsburg and walk along the Caribbean seabed exploring reefs off the coast of Sint Maarten. It'll be unforgettable!
Activity Details
We'll meet at Bobby's Marina to kick off this aquatic experience that combines 2 ways of exploring the Caribbean underwater world. Ready to snorkel and Sea Trek off the coast of Phillipsburg?
Once we're all set, we'll board the boat and make our way to a floating platform a few minutes away. There, we'll get a brief technical introduction to the equipment, safety protocols, and the basic physiology of breathing underwater with a pressurized helmet. We'll then split into 2 groups.
While one group snorkels for 30 minutes, the other will enjoy the Sea Trek. During the snorkeling session, we'll float over shallow coral gardens where we can spot schools of parrotfish, sergeant majors, angelfish, and blue damselfish moving between brain corals and sea fans.
Once the first phase is done, we'll return to the platform to swap equipment and begin the Sea Trek. We'll descend gradually to 6 m (20 ft) via a 20-step ladder, allowing us to adjust progressively to the pressure and get comfortable with the helmet.
Once on the seabed, we'll walk for 30 minutes along a path lined with handrails, surrounded by echinoderms, tube sponges, and tropical fish. A truly magical experience!
Finally, we'll ascend to the surface and head back by boat to the meeting point, wrapping up the activity after a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
