On this tour, we'll explore the town of Abraão, Preta Beach, and marvel at the Ilha Grande Aqueduct – three of the island's key tourist destinations! Plus, you'll have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim in a natural pool.
Tour Ilha Grande
Meet us in front of the São Sebastião Church and we'll kick off our walking tour through the rich history and lush nature of Ilha Grande.
Our tour starts in the village of Abraão, as we travel back in time, spanning around 3,000 years. Here, we'll gain insight into the island's first inhabitants via commemorative plaques offering fascinating information to their significant historical role as well as Ilha Grande and Angra dos Reis in the context of Brazil's history.
Then, we'll transition into the nature aspect of our tour, as we make our way to Preta Beach. This area features stretches of black sand and is home to the remnants of the Lazareto, a 19th-century quarantine hospital.
Finally, the last stop on our tour is a visit to the Ilha Grande Aqueduct and a natural swimming pool. Here, you can enjoy some time for sunbathing, bird-watching, or a refreshing swim. According to legend, those who take a dip in these waters are destined to return to the island!
After a refreshing and relaxing dip in these pristine waters, we'll return to our meeting point bringing our exciting adventure to an end, 2 hours after pickup.
