Activity Details
We’ll start the tour after picking you up from your hotel. Once ready, we’ll head out to discover Fortaleza’s main attractions. Let’s get started!
Our first stop will be at the Ponte dos Ingleses in Praia de Iracema, a viewpoint where the Atlantic displays its endless shades of blue. We’ll admire this pier while recalling the days when it was designed as a port dock. Did you know it never fulfilled its original function due to the constant force of the waves?
Next, we’ll head into Passeio Público, also known as Praça dos Mártires, the oldest square in Fortaleza. Its centuries-old trees tell stories of colonial times and of notable figures who once sought shade and conversation along its paths.
We’ll then continue to the Metropolitan Cathedral, a neo-Gothic temple whose towers rise elegantly toward the sky. We’ll admire its stained-glass windows, which filter the light into colorful reflections. Get your cameras ready, it’s beautiful!
After that, we’ll reach one of the highlights of the day: Fortaleza’s Central Market. Ready to discover one of the city’s most authentic sides? During a 1-hour visit, we’ll experience the lively atmosphere of its more than 500 stalls and shops. As we walk through, we’ll enjoy a sensory feast of handicrafts and textiles, mixed with the aromas of roasted nuts and the everyday buzz of Ceará.
After leaving the market, we’ll pass by the Ceará Tourism Center, a former prison that now functions as a cultural center. While admiring its façade, we’ll explain how its renovated cells now house small museums.
Next, we’ll spend around 20 minutes visiting the José de Alencar Theatre, where we’ll admire its Art Nouveau architecture and how it blends with Fortaleza’s modern character.
When it’s time for lunch, we’ll stop at a traditional restaurant in the city center, where you can eat on your own. After this 1-hour break, we’ll head to Avenida Beira Mar to reach the Fish Market.
There, we’ll wander among stalls filled with the colors and aromas of shrimp, octopus, and all kinds of fresh fish. We’ll mingle with local fishermen, and the market’s restaurants and bars will tempt you to try seafood prepared on the spot.
Finally, we’ll return to your hotel, where we’ll say goodbye after a total of 8 hours of touring.
