Hike through Lagoinha do Leste to watch the sunrise from Morro da Coroa, and end with a swim in a stunning setting in southern Florianópolis!
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of Artesanatos e Conveniência Gaia, in the Pântano do Sul neighborhood, at the southern tip of the island. After welcoming you with an introduction to the route, we'll review safety measures and hand out flashlights to begin the night walk. Everything is ready to begin this magical adventure under the stars!
With our flashlights on, we'll begin the ascent along a 1.4-km (1 mi) trail surrounded by native vegetation in full bloom. As we cross the Lagoinha do Leste Natural Park, we'll share interesting anecdotes about medicinal plants and ethnobotany with you. Did you know that many communities still use this knowledge in their daily lives?
After this first section, we'll enter an area of denser vegetation, where the terrain features exposed roots and rocks, so we'll walk carefully at a more relaxed pace. During this part of the tour, we'll stop to rest, drink up, and listen to the sounds of nocturnal wildlife. You may even see fireflies lighting up the path!
Little by little, we'll reach Morro da Coroa, the highest point on the route. From this natural viewpoint, we'll watch the sunrise over Lagoinha do Leste beach. The spectacle of light and color in the sky blends with the sea and vegetation, giving us an unforgettable view. You can take advantage of this opportunity to take pictures and eat the breakfast you brought with you as we share some legends, such as the story of the famous witches of Ilha da Magia.
After this break, we'll begin the descent to Lagoinha do Leste beach. The trail is short but somewhat steep. Once on the sand, you will have free time to stroll, take a dip, and visit the saltwater lagoon that gives the place its name.
Finally, we'll return via a different route, approximately 2.5 km (1.2 mi) long, with alternating ascents and descents. This last part allows us to rediscover the landscape in daylight.
Upon arriving at the Pântano do Sul neighborhood, we'll bring the activity to an end, 6 hours later.
