The western part of Paraguay is home to many different communities. Join us to learn about their legacy on this shopping and cultural tour in Ciudad del Este, the capital of Alto Paraná.
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll begin this cultural tour around Ciudad del Este, from the Centro Comercial Shopping del Este.
Our first stop will be the Catedral San Blas, one of the main religious monuments in the city. This church is very special due to its structure, designed in the shape of Noah's Ark and built with stone directly extracted from the Paraná River. Besides its architectural value, the cathedral is a symbol of faith and identity for the local citizens.
We'll continue the tour by enjoying the beautiful scenic views of some of the city's main points of interest, such as the Mezquita del Este, the Estadio 3 de Febrero, the Palacio de Justicia, the Antiguo Aeropuerto Alejo García, and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park.
Afterward, we'll stop at El Mensú History Museum, the first house built in the city, which currently preserves historic items, Guaraní artisanal pieces, and old tools used by the first inhabitants of Ciudad del Este.
The tour will continue toward the Lago de la República, considered the green lung of Ciudad del Este and one of the perfect places to see the contrasts between nature and urban life. From here, we'll head to La Mansa Paraguay, a traditional restaurant where you'll enjoy a tasting of a typical alcoholic beverage from the country, along with a Paraguayan snack.
Then, we'll head to the stunning Saltos del Monday, known as the "mini waterfalls" of Paraguay for their beauty and similarity to the Iguazu Falls. Without a doubt, this natural spectacle, surrounded by vegetation, will be one of the most memorable moments of the tour.
After this tour, we'll head to a restaurant in the area so you can grab some lunch. Then, we'll take you to the Shopping Cellshop shopping mall, where you can buy local products.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point, where the tour will come to an end after 5 hours.
