Located in one of the most touristic towns of the Serra Gaúcha, the Egyptian Museum in Canela has the largest collection about the land of the pharaohs in all of Latin America. Magical amulets, enigmatic sarcophagi and many more surprises await you there. The collection has travelled through Brazil and across continents, before settling in the city of Canela and is now a permanent attraction there.
Made up of perfect replicas signed by the Egyptian artist Essam Elbattal and his team, the museum is full of mysteries to explore in its various environments. We recommend starting with the main hall, where you'll find a wide variety of objects and sculptures. Another place not to be missed is the papyrus corridor.
There's also a kids area, perfect for children to draw and learn hieroglyphics. You'll discover a hidden and forgotten reality in the ancient inscriptions, which until two centuries ago nobody knew how to decipher. There, you can take all the photos you want, but don't forget to take the typical Egyptian portrait photo!
